Boxing Essay

Boxing: a sport that has been known to mankind for ages. It is a very entertaining sport, viewed and enjoying by millions across the world. Many fans enjoy watch the skill of the fighters battling it out to prove they're the best. This is a reason why I believe boxing should not be banned. Boxing deserves not to be banned because it is entertaining, set with rules, and fair.

Boxing has been known to be one of the most entertaining sports of all time. Millions of people flood to their television sets every time there's a fight involving a highly respected athlete. It keeps people watching, anxious and excited after every single punch. Taking this joy away from the world just doesn't seem right. Although many people think it is just encouraging violence, really, it's not. It just shows what hard work and belief in yourself can bring out. Boxing is also not violence-encouraging because it has many rules fighters must follow.

Boxing has many rules which restraint the supposed violence. A typical fight consists of three rounds, containing about 15 minutes for each round. A referee is in the ring, making sure no illegal hits are landed. He also makes sure they are safely able to fight. At the end of each round, the fighters must take a small break, regenerating a small amount of strength rather than just fighting until they were physically unable to any longer. Almost every serious hit that can be landed on a human is prohibited in boxing. This makes sure the fighters are well protected, and shows why the sport of boxing should be allowed to continue going on. Boxing is also a very fair sport.

In addition to the rules, boxing is also a fair sport. Every punch landed is not a waste. Each punch is counted as a point, a point being added if the punch throw is landed. There are three judges at ringside, observing the fight. They make a joint decision about who wins a round if a player is not knocked out. This means that boxing is not just ruthless aggression. It is a meaningful sport which is not simply about hitting someone.

This is why I believe boxing should not be banned. It is a meaningful sport. It has, in its small ways, shaped the world into what it is today. Although many people may think this only adds to the fact that boxing should be banned, I disagree. Think about the young fans, looking up to boxers and wishing to work hard, only to be like them. Boxing is a sport, that, with it's rules, fairness, and place in sports entertainment, should remain a part of many people lives- now and forever.

Haha, see, get it? Box? Boxing? Anywho......sugar. Remember that.
